Dark Dimension vs Spider-Foes 17/09/21

 Dark Dimension vs Spider-Foes 17/09/21

Hey folks.

So last post I said I'd post more, clearly I havent haha. My apologies, turns out house ownership also involves actually doing redecorating, moving stuff around, fixing holes in your ceiling that you put there by accident, etc stuff like that haha. But, we are moving into Autumn and Winter meaning more gaming and less outdoor stuff. Also spoke to Adam so we will get the filming for the channel back up and running soon. Thanks to everyone who has been patient, those we subbed whilst we have been quiet, and for those who still watch out content. It's very much appreciated 🙂

Moving on to the game. 🙂 So for this game I want to try Sam Spam, but I also threw Dormammu into the mix. With a list of decent 3 costs turning it into an intimidating Dark Dimension list was doable. I also had the Panic extraction scenario in my line up, Dark Dimension makes this a potentially spicey Extraction for me. Unfortunately I missed a few pics, a bit rusty so sadly no team line up pics, my apologies.

We rolled for priority and I won. I chose Extraction and Adam was the secures.

Dark Dimension:

Dormammu, Valkyrie, Iron Fist, Okoye, Moon Knight.

TTCs:

Dark Restoration, Dark Empowerment, Advanced R&D, Medpack, Follow Me

Spider Foes :

Green Goblin, Lizard, Kraven, Okoye, Domino, Carnage

TTCs:

Bitter Rivals, Disarm, Battle Lust, Medpack, Brace for Impact.

Game Setup :

Secure: Infinity Formula Found

Extraction: Panic Grips City as Evacuation Efforts Continue.

Threat: 19

Deployment:

As I said earlier, I won priority. Discarded the random card from my hand and chose to run Panic over Hammers. I wanted to see how Dark Dimension handled it given their immense ability to generate power. Adam chose Infinity Formula which would help this, but two scenarios on deployment B was going to be difficult, especially with Adam having 6 to my 5.

So I deploy first with Valkyrie, Okoye, Dormammu, Moon Knight and Iron Fist (from left to right.) Adam counter deploys with Okoye, Lizard, Carnage (behind the oil truck), Kraven, Domino and Goblin. Right away I know I've messed up. Moon Knight has wall crawler and Valkyre doesn't, and the giant Fisk building is blocking LOS for Adam to hide behind. My plan is to get 2 extracts and teleport them out turn 2, and hopefully daze and steal the third extract.

Round One:

As I said, I got priority, so I decide to go right to plan and move Iron Fist up and pick up the first citizen, then he moves back towards the car out of Green Goblins range.

Adam moves Okoye (who I'll refer to as Okoye 2) up to control the Infinity Formula on his side.

Valkyrie moves fowward then climbs onto the building and picks up the next citizen. Had this been Moon Knight I would have been able to do this and still have an action, deffo bad deployment from myself.

Domino moves up and takes the citizen on Adams side of the board.

Moon Knight activates and rolls a hit giving him 2 extra dice on his next attack, which for this turn is kind of useless. He double walks and takes cover behind the car.

Goblin double moves forward to the Fisk container.

Dormammu also double moves toward the Fisk container.

Lizard double walks and picks up the citizen on his side of the table.

Okoye (who will be referred to as Okoye1) double walks into the shade of the building.

Carnage double moves forward, aggressively heading towards Okoye1 and Valkyre.

Kraven finishes the round by double moving onto the objective.

Round ends 4 - 4

Round 2:

During the power phase Dormammu, Iron Fist, Valkyrie, Goblin, Kraven, Domino, Okoye2 and Lizard all gain a power from the Infinity Formula.

Iron Fist starts my turn and teleports out a civilian scoring me 2 VPs taking it to 6 - 4. Moon Knight uses Advanced R&D to give out his power to everyone else. Iron Fist then walks and attacks Goblin for 0 damage, but places beside him onto the objective.

Domino attacks Iron Fist for 2 damage and gets the rapid fire trigger to do another 1 damage. She then moves down and out of LOS of Dormammu.

Valkyrie teleports out the next citizen scoring another 2 VPs and making it 8 - 4 to me, so at the moment my plan is on track. She then moves and attacks Carnage for 0 damage.

Lizard double attacks Valkyre but only causes 1 damage.

Dormammu moves up towards the middle of the board. Green Goblin triggers his ability and blows up a car causing 2 damage. Dormammu then uses Dark Empowerment on Moon Knight, then proceeds to attack Goblin with his spender causing 5 damage and allowing Moon Knight to gain 5 power. He then teleports himself back to score on my side of the table and Medpacks himself.

Goblin attacks and dazes Iron Fist then moves back to cover and Medpacks himself.

Moon Knight activates and rolls another hit gaining a power. He then just double walks, tucking himself into the edge of the Fisk container.

Okoye2 double spear blasts Valkyrie but only causes 1 damage.

Okoye1 walks and attacks Carnage which is bodyguarded onto Okoye2 for 0 damage.

Carnage walks and attacks Okoye1 for 2 damage and applies Bleed.

Kraven walks and attacks Moon Knight for 3 damage and bleed and triggers his ability to move so moves back to cover.

Round ends 9 - 8 to me.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic :(

Round 3:

During the power phase Okoye1, Dormammu, Iron Fist, Carnage, Lizard, Domino and Kraven all gain 1 power from the Infinity Forumula.

Iron Fist launches an Iron Fist attack at Domino and dazes her causing her to drop her citizen which he then picks up. He then moves back.

Carnage attacks and dazes Valkyre, triggers paint the town red and attacks and dazes Okoye1. He then moves back to the objective.

Moon Knight rolls a wild and gains a power. He walks towards Green Goblin, and I forgot about Trick or Treat, allowing Goblin to blow up terrain which I could have avoided, dazing him.

Kraven attacks Iron Fist twice and KOs, he then picks up and teleports the civilian out making it 9-10 to Adam.

Dormammu teleports himself forward then walks onto the Fisk container. He then attacks and dazes Kraven.

Goblin moves, then Hit and Runs Dormammu but does 0 damage. Moving toward my objective but lands a little short.

Okoye2 stays where she is.

Lizard stays where he is.

In the clean up phase Dormammu uses Dark Restoration and brings Iron Fist back into the fight.

Round ends 11 - 13 to Adam

Round 4:

During the power phase Dormammu, Carnage, Okoye2, Lizard, Kraven and Domino gain 1 power from the Infinity Forumula.

Moon Knight rolls a hit for 2 extra dice and hits Kraven with his spender attack, KOing him but a turn too late. He then attacks Domino for 2 damage and plays Follow Me onto Dormammu.

Dormammu double attacks Green Goblin but only causes 3 damage, but does apply Hex.

Lizard teleports out the 4th and final citizen moving it to 11-15 to Adam and all but seals his victory. He then double attacks Valkyre for 2 damage.

Valkyre charges and double attacks Carnage and dazes the symbiote.

Adam plays Bitter Rivals on Dormammu and then Green Goblin moves away from Iron Fist. He then plays Battle Lust and attacks Fist and dazes him.

Okoye1 moves and attacks Okoye2, dazing her.

Domino attacks and KOs Moon Knight, then finishes with an attack on Dormammu for 1 damage.

Game ends 13 - 17 to Adam.

Thoughts and feelings haha. Ok I did love Dormammu and Dark Dimension and my plan was legit sound. Both scenarios on B and Adam having one more member deffo was my downfall. That combined with Adam being able to hide behind the Fisk container while scoring and staying out of Dormammu's LOS was difficult to counter. Also forgetting Goblins Trick or Treat, after Adam had used it previously, was poor play from me. My deployment should have been reversed as well with the wall crawler on the building side. This was also my first time trying follow me and honestly it wasn't bad at all. I liked what Dark Dimension can do for a team and I'll deffo be trying it more on different line ups. Pleased with how I played, even though I did make some blatant errors. You live and learn :-)
